Ricardo Alvarez wowed Scarborough Jazz Club on both visits with his quartet, presenting his album of oiginal compositions Huay Not and tearing through some well known standards. A fantastic sax player from Argentina, Ricardo was based at the University of York but found time to record and perform an album with local musicians while here. Unfortunately for local jazz fans Ricardo has now returned to his homeland to teach. He shared the following video on social media this week – it was filmed at the album launch in York and features the musicians he recorded the album with. You can listen to the album here
