Many may know Howard Beaumont from his summer residency in the Scarborough Spa Sun Court (which he has held since 1989) or perhaps when he has been featured on the popular BBC Radio 2 programme ‘The Organist Entertains’. Over an illustrius career perfroming round the world, Howard has performed on many Wurlitzer Organs from Radio City Music Hall in New York to Blackpool Tower.
Howard also holds his own on a different organ: the Hammond B-3. Inspired by the Jimmy Smith school of jazz organ, Howard is not afraid of letting the Leslie scream now and again. This album The Boys & the ‘B’ was recorded with his trio at our very own Scarborough Jazz Club in 2008 and features Lee Adams on percussion and Gary Gillyett on guitar.
