A ‘Jazz Prom’ has been a tradition at the BBCs annual classical music festival for several decades now. Following in the footsteps of the likes of Wynton Marsalis and Julian Joseph, this year sees British saxophonist Nubyia Garcia take to the Royal Albert Hall stage. Her performance will be broadcast live on BBC Four. Details here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ezqmzc
And if you just can’t wait until then, why not check out Nubyia’s ‘Tiny Desk at Home’ concert filmed on a boat in London during lockdown where she plays a set from her album SOURCE with influences from reggae, contemporary soul and John Coltrane in a glorious mix of improvised music.
