Scarborough Jazz begins a new season on Wednesday 12 January with vibraphone player John Settle. It’s a season full of some familiar faces such as saxophonists Stuart MacDonald, Ben Lowman and Joel Purnell. We’re also delighted to be welcoming back the house band leader at Scarborough Jazz Festival: guitarist James Birkett.
Fans of contemporary sounds will be looking forward to the visit of Not Now Charlie from Newcastle who blend rock, neo-soul and pop influences with jazz harmonies and improvisation.
Our hugely enjoyable ‘New Jazz Generation’ support slots will continue too with returning groups such as Murray Robinson’s Balls Full Of Jazz and some new faces such as teenage singer Flo Shaw and trombonist Lewis Alder.
Pick up a leaflet or keep an eye on our website and facebook page for dates (basically every Wednesday evening) and we hope to see you there.
