Stan Tracey is recognised as one of the greats of British jazz, receiving praise from visiting star musicians from across the pond in his role as the house pianist at Ronnie Scott’s club, and as a composer and performer on a series of great recordings. His suite based on Dylan Thomas’s ‘Under Milk Wood’ ranks up there as one of his best albums.
Here you can watch a performance of that suite mixing poetry, visual imagery and Stan’s compositions form Brecon Jazz Festival in 2001.
